hi tomas,i never had the chance to see the full clips but i would like to ask what’s the title of the movie with natalie portman and tobey maguire, is that a new movie? the soundtrack is awesome..
Hi, The last clip is from the upcoming movie Brothers. Its release date is Dec 4th 2009. The first song in the trailer is from The Fray – Never Say Never.
@Tomas: thanks..
SPOILER ALARM- got to see the movie’ Worlds greatest Dad’ (3 otters)…it tackles about a relationship between a father and son, of how the father understand his son so much and in return the sons gaves a headache to his father.. until such tragic accident(sex voyeurism) happen to his son…
I have a problem with the film “Thelma and Louise” who not what is. Definitively this in my top ten of favorite films but I remember never it until I return to see it and I often saw. It always considers this film like the other face feminine of the film “Falling Down” (Joel Schumacher/1993), another film that love it. I believe that both films have that magic of the importance of the daily routine to break with the repressed thing and to go towards something extreme (completed).
I don`t think that movie is a film about the friendship… Mmmm… There is a latent homosexuality between the personage of Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis. The end is a metaphor of this consumasion final, and punishment in front of a society that costs to him to even more accept to the woman like an equal to the man in many aspects and the existence of the lesbianism, of which if we threw a look to history of the cinema sees much more repressed that masculine homosexuality.
Now I can understand the cause of because always forgetfulness this film.
PS. I am Lost enamored of that otter toy. Looks smooth and with intense glance.
PS. Natalie Portman is an incredible and very beautiful actress. When I saw to she in the film “The Other Boleyn” me faint before its talent. Perhaps it sounds stupid that makes reference about the beauty of the actors or x thing of his fisic but I believe that at the time of choosing an actor to interpret a paper with regard to the cinema they are not possible at least to be separated, I do not separate it at least. Can will to be very good actor but from the line of vision is no something harnesses that expression as film actor does not serve, that is going away to make theater. And with reference to this aspect Tobey Maguire 5 otters, Jake Gyllenhaal I see to he a better future cooking cookies in the kitchen.
“Thelma y Louise” 5 otters.
sleepers and 4 brothers are good choices for movies that represent friendship. brother is self-explaining is a about brothers and not about friendship…?
i have more strong movies that definetly represent friendship deeper and wrapped up in a better movie!
these movies are actually one of my favorites:
there is “bound by honor”. the only actor i know in this movie is benjamin bratt. the story is about 3 friends who are going different ways after one big incident. thank you tomas! i alomost forgot about this movie!
i got 2 korean movies! please don’t be prejudicive! these movies every non-korean will like!
the one is “friend”. 4 friends that went through school and making different carreers. 2 become students in university and the other two become gang members in diferent gangs and end up fighting each other! really strong and had/has the deepest impact in korea. too many viewers misunderstood the message of the movie and went out to stab each other!
the other is “JSA, joint security area”. 2 south korean soldiers become friends with 2 north korean soldiers at the border. really nice story. can’t tell too much of the movie.
i would really appreciate if you watched these movies if you have the chance!
“good will hunting” you all know this movie! don’t need to say anything about it.
all good and valid points ibby. Just want to mention one thing, i did do a thematically split, meaning this friendships stick together until the end (well, the end of the movie that is) and symbolize that their bonds are stronger than blood. Again, the trailer is an example for the same thesis ’stronger than blood’ (Spidey goes mental against his own brother)…just from the other perspective. Before the week is over it will make more sense why Blood In Blood Out (Bound By Honour) is not mentioned in here
I believe “4 Brothers” is a remake of “The Sons of Katie Elder” with some slight thematic changes but still a good movie.
Being a southern gal I have to go with “Steele Magnolias” as the top friends film. The women support each other through happy times and tragedy with laughs and tears. Excellent film. Very representative of our culture.
Love the little beaver/otter? in the background. He looks so cute. If he moves I’m going to freak.
ahaha “bollocks!” euh no can’t say that… “euh nonsense” you’re the best T
k
“Stand by Me” (1986)Rob Reiner!
“Mystic River” (2003) Clint Eastwood
“Stand by Me” is the classic about friendship.
@juli: yeah!! totally agree on “stand by me”. really good movie!
mystic river is a great movie as well. but i think tomas is not agrreing on this one since this is a movie where the friendship was lost in an early state already!
am i right tomas?!
@ibby and juli: I can’t promise anything for STAND BY ME but before Friday’s sun sets down on the horizon in Europe, I have high hopes that you two will nod approvingly. That’s more than I should say
@Ibby: I am going to try to lie for you don’t me call “negative person” ja ja
Oh God is so amazing movie “Mystic River”! and all the prizes Oscar for “Crank” (the movie of my life) 100 otters!!
“Mystic river” it puts into play but that the old friendship, the memory, the changed image that we have of the people and we ourself.
@Ibby: Please if there is to lie I dye the blonde my hair and I am going away to listen Britney Spears, I`m sorry Ibby to lie is not my style.
@Ibby: I hate you so much Ibby. I am going to take an ice cream to see if I feel better ja ja
I want the little beaver otter for me.
Good bye.
@juli: i never called you a negative person!?!?!?!
haha, you can’t compare “mystic river” with “crank”. two way different movies!! but i like both…
don’t dye your hair! i like dark hair:)!
and i don’t really like britney spears…so stay happy and don’t shave your head like britney did!!!
PS: hope you enjoyed your ice cream!
@Ibby: I want to shave the head! someday, not now.
Enjoy my ice cream.
I`m sorry Ibby, really
“Mystic river” I don`t like it but is more better than “Crank” is true.

We make honor to the chapter and we are friends! ja ja
‘Brothers’ looks great. Yet to see ‘Sleepers’ but always see it in these Top 50 film lists.
I’d say ‘Shawshank Redemption’ says a lot about a friendship which isn’t normally tackled in the cinema.
That unique friendship between two men, a sort of unspoken but powerful bond, that exists without the two even having to speak of it.
It’s message of enduring friendship and the human spirit easily makes it into one of my favourites of all time.
