Pump It: Adrenaline – Episode 16
August 19th, 2009
How fast can you go? A rush of adrenaline, defying the laws of physics, breath taking stunts and neck breaking speed…after Tomas defines what extreme sports is to him – and offends all roller-bladers -, he lines up a representation of action movies with the likes of Ong-Bak, Kill Bill and The Bourne Ultimatum. As take-aways ‘The Hurt Locker’ and ‘X-Games 3D the Movie’ are being wrapped up….

i am first!!
probably that’s because i am at home sick!! and of course i am a fan of showloon and tomas:)!
the movies are well-picked although i don’t know all of ‘em! sports documentaries always give me the kick!
you need to check out “fire, ice & dynamite”, too! pretty cool stunts they are showing basically snowboard and skiing.
going back to movies i think the epic movies like brave heart kicked the sh… out of me! sorry for all the englishmen reading this but during the battle you kinda feel how every warrior is in a adrenaline rush trying to stay alive while killing others! and after the battle the victory scream (or is it just the expression of happiness to be still alive)wanted me to actually have a sword and run with william wallace into battle!
similar “300″! being part of a group that depends on one another to survive is greatly initiated by the director.
favorite part: “SPARTANS!!! WHAT IS OUR PROFESSION?” “AAWHOOOO, AAWHOOOO, AAAWWWWHHOOOOOO!!!” haha!!
to go away from these epic movies i have to mention “silence of the lambs”. this movie made my heart beat raise every time i saw jodie foster…nah just kidding!! but the movie is so intense that it makes your body go tense and your heart beat faster! you want the killer to be caught and you want jodie foster to survive this movie, no matter what!
every movie starring megan fox!! such an adrenaline rush and breath taking…;)!
i am sorry guys! i got carried away!!
cheers!!
I do not like that elephant. The elephants disturb me. The only time that I went to a circus when I was little girl I saw as they killed elephant. People abandonment the function obvious but were very traumatic, never but she returns to a circus, just by to see them by far the horror invades me.
Matt Damon also disturbs much to me, always me similiar a copy badly done of Leonardo Di Caprio.
I do not have devotion by “the adrenalin” films,
Perhaps in truth hates a little but this hatred comes bound to an absence from content, of argument in the film (generally). You say me“adrenalin” and I think in the garbage of “Fast furious” o something similar with Vin Diezel. But fodder twice and comes that perfect glance to me from Sharon Stone in that brilliant film of cawboys call “The Quick and the Dead” (1995 film, Sam Reimi). It is like everything, if the “adrenalin” justifies the plot or this to the service of I see it well to a narration. Gratuitous adrenalin I do not like, like sex or the blood or the fools or too much beauty.
“Kill Bill” the first part I love it. I love the Quentin Tarantino of “Reservior dogs” oh, yeah, that movie! They say that Tarantino is a thief, but I say “is necessary to know how to rob either” are many they rob and they rob bad, Quentin is a good thief is necessary to have talent to be able to rob or. Robbing can be an art ja ja. Thus I am constructed to the cinema and the majority of the arts.
A film that hatred is “Snatch” of Guy Ritchie enough, but… the scene in Ring, the sequence of assembly of Brad Pitt fighting is better impossible! , that metaphor to fall of Ring to means of the ocean is really fantastic, that is adrenalin, adrenalin of assembly! I love it.
Vin Diesel 0 otters (I hate you so much Diesel ja ja. I hate much more at the other guy I cant remermber his name, the blong guy, ohhh I kill he)
Matt Damon 1 otters
Brad Pitt 3 otters
Leonardo Di Caprio 4 otters ja ja and one more for the talent!
I lo amo.
@juli: maybe it’s a girl thing to not like “adrenalin films”:)…cause they are actually very entertaining. of course there is a lot of bad movies but they are not supposed to represent this genre…please…!!
bourne trilogy is possibly the fastest movie i know! from the first second on there is the storytelling oin a tremendous speed! really cool!
“ong bak” is the best martial arts movie! so authentic that i actually think that a few of the fellows suffered real pain, like broken bones and brain concussions!
i don’t really agree with kill bill! i mean tarantino has a specialty in creating these special dialogues! but i didn’t feel any adrenaline watching that movie. i actually thought the movie was really boring…
tarantino constantly couldn’t satisfy the expectations with his last movies including kill bill and the one with kurt russel. also his productions weren’t that great either…planet terror for example.
let’s see what his new one will be like!
So the bag failed on contract negotiations and has been replaced by elephant pillow. Bet you never thought your accessories would be such a big deal.
I’d have to second “300″ for adrenalin and throw in the first Matrix movie. Oh and if you want skateboards and action you can go old school on “Hackers”. I’ll be checking out “Ong Bak”.
@ibby: Oh, Jesus Christ Ibby! ja ja Do you make me anger? (is quite easy)ja ja. Take my sword and we put ourselves to fight if it is your desire. Ja ja.
Ok, look: “Pulp Fiction” bored me very enormously and sight that made to me see it thousand times while it studied cinema in the faculty, by the dialogues etc etc, the dialogues do not enter to me, but as this filmed “Kill Bill I” is impressive, hopefully it can film someday like Quentin in those sequences of “Kill Bill”. I have a friend fan of Quentin, the only movie she hates of Quentin is “Kill bill I”, right the one that I like together to ” Reservior dogs”.
And “300″ it does not mention it because it seems to me a clown film, but Gerard Blutter oh my… ja ja 5 otters!!!
I really agree generally with your commentaries, this was the exception. There is a sick thing between “cinema people” or “cinema students” who despise to Quentin Tarantino and nor to speak of “Kill Bill”. Then good there are many denominated French or Oriental films of cult that gain prizes and have excellent criticism and are a disaster. We are objective people! , for something we have eyes, we see not read criticisms to form our own criticism.
@Ibby: And “Planet terror” is a true terror ja ja, but not directed by Quentin, is movie of Robert Rodriguez who is a true disaster directing he go that man, I had myself to change to the last name of Rodriguez to Revolver so that people do not confuse with me ja ja. Right of perpetual ownership that is not familiar mine. Before I make a disc with Antonio Banderas (shoot me in the head!)
@juli: well “pulp fiction” is THE movie from quentin. there is no doubt about that. reservoir dogs is the second best.
i think quentin is just a guy who lives out his imaginations and wishes in his movies. let’s say he is fan of “eastern”…let’s make a movie (kill bill). there will be western coming, too, i betcha!;)
and i am not meaning that he is a bad director or anything similar to that!!
and i don’t want to fight you! i am a pacifist! make love not war!! peace!! haha!!
how about i organize you antonio banderas and you give me megan fox?! deal or no deal?!
@Ibby: I don`t understand anything that conversation ja ja.
For parts:
1. I don`t like Antonio Banderas, I do not want it so there is no treatment.
2. Megan Fox? Please, Angelina Jolie every life! I hate the imitations badly done. Angelina is a excellent actress likes or not all the circus that is with her life. I don`t believe that she takes blood from vampire or that Brad Pitt is heterosexual, please!. But subject aside.(pathetic circus)
3. “Reservoir dogs” is the movie of Quentin, “Pulp fiction” is more famous but like everything, the more famous thing does not mean that is the best thing.
About I speak in the previous post.
4. I`m not fan of Quentin Tarantino, that is a good thief I said already it, but even so when it wants to do a good film does, is an excellent “montajista” and in ” Kill bill I” it demonstrates it. Also he is a clown, I don`t believe he nor half to him of things that says like Gaspar Noé, but Gaspar Noé I believe that it has a cinema of very own author which I defend that Tarantino much more.
5. I do not want to fight, but already buy the katanas so …I am waiting for you to begin. Furthermore with this storm is very cinematographic je je.
alright then i misunderstood!
u don’t like antonio, which is great becuase i don’t have to worry about him anymore:)!
i still want megan! and i would love to see you tell her that she is a copy of angelina haha!! i hink you will die!
ok all i need is a hattori hansol blade and a plane ticket to wherever you live! there can only be one!!
cheers!
@Ibby: Yeah It’s correct Ibby! ja ja
I wainting for you with my katana and…
Look at you the film “Meat” of Gaspar Noe and sweet dreams darling!
Cinema until the death!
Wow! Bet you never thought Action films could cause so much Drama. HEHEHE
@juli: hahaha!!! you are funny!!
i have a lot of respect for brave women! how about i call you jeanne d’arc from now on?
“be one with your blade!”
Great line-up, Tomas. Ong-Bak is great. Kill Bll Vol. 1 is also a very fun movie, but I found the second one a bit boring, mostly because I was expecting something like the first and he suddenly moved away from all the over-the-top Japanese martial art film pastiches, saving that mentor guy, and went with something more dialogue-driven. I like his dialogue, but there was definitely too much of it to make it another adrenaline film.
The Bourne films are very nearly the same film three times, but I still really enjoy watching them. Matt Damon is a great actor. I agree about the Tangiers rooftop chase.
Most people seem to like 300, but…I got bored with it. Even on the level of pure action spectacle, it did nothing for me. Great soundtrack, though.
@Ibby: I’m not funny, I’m crazy ja ja
You do not want to buy to me with flatteries, we have a pending dispute I do not forget me! ja ja and call me as you want. There is a joke very graceful in Spanish on this but I furthermore do not believe that you can understand it nor I to translate it, by the context rather ja ja “Pegame y llamame Marta”. It does not matter. You removed a smile yesterday to me, I thank for that it.
@CJ: I agree with both films, I think exactly the same.
Comes to me at the head “Sin city” film that raises according to me in the day I can love it or hate it. Also boring me fell but has some very good takes and this Brittany Murphy, oh God I love that woman, is really talented and has a perfect face for the “camara”. It must stop making comedies idiot and to put itself with the drama, nobody stops her!!.
Speaking of adrenalin, it is necessary to mention the worse film of the history of the cinema and includes the subject of “adrenaline” of beginning in the end. As I could forget that disaster? Worse than “Fast and the furious”. It tries on a man who must maintain his high adrenalin level not to die. I have see it in a long trip outside the city really think that I gonna die, the film in question is: “Crank” (2006)that above I finish finding out has one second part! ah good east world gives for everything.
Brittany Murphy 5 otters (The must beautifull woman in the world and the history of cinema)
“Crank” In deficit of otters.
It is a shame because the idea originates of the story is good but they make a disaster audio-visual.
@juli: well, i meant crazy but i wanted to express it more politely:)!
and actually i am getting an adrenaline kick out of this conversation we are having, haha!!
i got a vendetta with someone i don’t know…it can hit me any time any place!!
can’t top that, haha!!
wow,this is a healthy conversation..
@juli: i agree on sin city. actually a movie with great pictures, which made the movie interesting but all in all i found the movie rather disappointing…
brittany murphy maybe did’t show her talent to its full extension yet. maybe she is a great actress but she truly didn’t show it yet. the movie choices weren’t the best.
i am sorry to disagree with u again, but we already have a blood feud so i don’t give a sh… anymore:)!
“crank” and “crank2″ are the most entertaining movies!! haha the ideas are so funny and crazy! really loved the movies! and again, i get the slight impression that u cannot like these movies because you are a girl. and i would have been shocked if u liked the movies to be honest! (ducking down to avoid getting hit from juli’s katana)
always a scene to crack up!
@Ibby: Oh no! A little while gentleman, excuse me, listen well? That because I am woman I cannot appreciate adrenaline films…??? Ah, no, now if hiden it you well because I do not forgive you, I will can your life in my hands, maximum edge katana! DIE Ibby DIE! ja ja.
I must make a confession until you did not mention to Megan Fox, thought that a woman was speaking with, soon when you appointed the actress I said, Ibby must be lesbian ja ja, really not because, the only reference of the Ibby name that I have is the one of the personage of the series “Lost” season 3 if not badly memory. Anyway you have my reverse there you stopped, it? Hurts a little? Do you want a hard blow more? I give it to you if you remained with desire ja ja
Returning to the cinema, breadfruit you made me anger again:
1-About of “Sin City” I gree 100%.
2-Brittany Murphy. Do you see “Don’t Say a Word” (2001)? A film with Michael Douglas. The first time that I saw Brittany was in this film, almost me faint I see when it in scene. Impressive action. It also has fisic of “transtornada girl” inclines who it but towards this type of personages. She is an excellent actress and it has a beauty that transmits much, not like Megan your love, that is pretty to see it in a poster awhile it bores and you to one second cautious one. Equal is your love, it respect but next to Brittany is no comparison parameter with Megan je je.
Brittany is the actress and the woman.
3- “Crank”. If we are going to consider to begin this film as “film” I finish to this conversation in that moment. Ja ja. This is the part where I lost the respect that you Ibby tapeworm. Please “Crank” is “Crap” is a very bad movie, bad really. Coarse, foreseeable, bad filmed, boring, silly, really idiot. Of the same condiments a good film can take control but it is not the case I maintain and it. It happens that it is the typical film they put where you to a pretty blonde in four legs and the adolescent with popcorn in hand begins to be delirious ja ja, but really are films in this style infinitely better. In the Guy Ritchie’s style with the difference Guy Ritchie knows to film, bah… better we forget “Rockanrolla” (2 otters), although the scene of love between Gérard Buttler with the other masculine actor oh God, if, those scenes to the girls also we like is hour that you men know it. Those scenes are true adrenaline! Oh yeah, I love the adrenaline films! Ja ja
I’m sorry for my terrible English ja ja Really I do not like to write so badly, above Ibby to me puts nervous makes me write fast and I write worse. I am learning ingles so peoble be patients I soon hope to be able to write better.:)
peoble: people
@juli: i am familiar using the sword and easily return the favor and counter your strike! ah i love playing with words…:)
haha and yes i am a man! and we actually “know” each other already through a certain community;)
i never compared brittany murphy and megan fox! never said that megan is a great actress although she didn’t have the chance to prove it yet.
and i don’t expect her to be a good one either! its enough for me to see her on the screen. f… the robots and the amazing technique they are using in the movies! at the end it’s megan that makes all the viewers come to the cinema!
haha que linda!! u call me a tapeworm haha! i can see you sitting in front of the computer typing it and making a face, haha!
crank is great! so much action! from the first second on the movie is maintaining a constant blowing up, shooting and fighting in an amazing speed! after all, it is a guy movie! i know that we won’t have a solution to this.
if girls like crank, they are no girls!! so luckily you don’t like that movie, juli!!
and i am not a girl either, haha!! proving it with liking crank!
Great line up! However, I did not see any Ip Man in there. Although, there wasnt much action in it, but when there was, there was action!
Ong Bak
4 Otters
Action packed, fast paced, and great cheorography. Everything was done naturally, and thats the best type of fight scene, unlike crouching tiger hidden dragon which dissapointed me. Tony jaa is quite good, but his other movies ave dissapointed me and i havnt seen anything with him in it lately.
Kill Bill
5 Otters
Kill Bill is one of my favorites, Quinten Tarantino is a genious. I love his films, Pulp Fiction and Resevoir Dogs also brilliant. His use of action with a comical tie, touched with Japanese and eastern theme makes it an awesome movie that makes you keep watching.
Bourne Ultimatum
5 Otters
I love the bourne films, but as a Russian (by blood), im quite dissapointed at how they portray our police force as a bunch of idiots. Fair enough with the NYPD (no offence to Americans), but a little bit more stuff that says “Russians are awesome!”
Anyway..
This film was wicked! i loved it, the action was brilliant. It makes you want to go out and drive a car through a mall and beat people up and jump of buildings and so forth… but dont try that.
X-Games
4 otters
I love xtreme sports, like skateboarding and snowboarding. if I could, I would do them. But I will stick with Martial Arts. I reckon “High-way” crossing should be classfied as one, and the same with “Bear fighting”.
Crank.
99 otters
CRANK! ….
GOOD! …
Crank 2 looks good.
Todays ocelot of approval, for this episode, goes to Bourne Ultimatum. its pretty inteense.
Thanks Tomas
Go Ma wo
Hurt locker (5 otters)
all i know when i watched this movie i always saying ‘f#&k,s@it, what the hell he’s doing?,and im like holding my head all the time.. for those who watched the movie can relate to this..
hi tomas speaking with the movie have you noticed ralph fiennes in the movie? i only noticed guy pearce(hes the first man who detonates the bomb who died with the explosion).. then the next guy ‘James’(lead actor) who brings a lot of adrenaline,he’s so wild.. could you imagine, he detonates a bomb more or less 873 during his deployment?see, he’s really ‘anything under the sun’..my favorite scene, when he detonates a bomb in the car and it was fully loaded and he can’t find the connection (anytime it will explode)coz it was kept in the the car stereo but still he found it(success)…
the movie really got me..
@athenayesha: haven’t seen “The Hurt Locker” yet but judging by the trailer and the fact that the director is good when it comes to action, I am looking forward to it. Hey, would be ok if you write SPOILER ALERT in your text when you go into detail for new movies? Sometimes the rest of us is slower in catching up
@ethan: hell yeah!! crank’s the sh…!! haha! guy movie!!
@tomas: ah ok next time..thanks for reminding me.. go watch it.. you know,im too choosy when it comes to action movies but this one is exceptional(that’s for me)..
@athenayesha: thanks for understanding and recommending The Hurt Locker. I will definitely catch that one.
